We’d like to give you an update on the current situation of the COVID-19 outbreak in Vietnam, what we’ve done to help and what will come next. Please let us know if you don’t want to receive further updates.

At this point the numbers are just statistics. Please watch this 30 seconds clip to truly experience what’s happening: everything is super overloaded and Saigon’s healthcare system can collapse at any moment.

What’ve we done?

Highlights:

• We’ve distributed 17,448 food packages to working people throughout Vietnam.

• We've shipped 26,300 N95 3M 8210 masks to support front-line medical workers.

• Aside from the Lotus Foundation, we’ve funded VNHELP, JOY Foundation and 5 more grass-root groups to expand food support to more people.

 

What are we doing to help?

 

We're working very hard on this campaign. It's almost become our second job :).

 

We've been talking to many hospitals and grass-root groups, and have identified three areas that can have the most impact: hospital qualified masks, PPE and personal oximeter (SP02). There are many other things that we can do, and these are what we are going to start with:

 

1. We're going to order 50,000 masks. We were told from a reliable source that hospitals in Saigon alone would need 300,000 masks in the next 30 days.

 

2. PPE can be acquired locally, therefore we’re going to grant $5,000 to the Vietnamese Stand Together team to source and distribute PPE. We’re looking for more local teams to collaborate on this.

 

3. Oximeters monitor people’s oxygen level. COVID-19 kills patients by silently reducing oxygen in the bloodstream, constantly monitoring is key to reduce severe cases and save lives! We plan to source and ship oximeters from the US to Vietnam. Although we are still evaluating how many we can support, we are anticipating to start with 5,000 units.
